Here is the procedure for adding the Proxy settings to your web browser This procedure is expressly for the Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.02 and 5.0, which most of you have installed in your computer. We will prepare instructions for all other browsers in use by our customers, but if you want to get a head start with the new filter, and you are presently using another browser, you now have the option of switching to Internet Explorer or you can improvise by using the information in steps 4 and 5. in your browsers proxy configuration.

  1. Open your  Internet Explorer 4.02 browser.  You needn’t be connected to the Internet at this point, so when the browser comes up and can’t find your Home page, don’t worry, this is normal. Just click the stop button and the browser will settle down and be ready for you to begin this process.
  2. Click the View menu and pull down to Internet Options as shown.
  3. The Internet Options page opens to its General section. Click the tab marked Connection.
  4. In the Proxy server section, click the check box "Access the Internet using a proxy server. Then type the URL address in the Address window: http://proxy.IOL14.com and type 80 in the Port window. Then click the "Advanced" button.
  5. If you have followed the other steps correctly, your Proxy Settings dialog box should look just like the sample below. If not, type in the correct information as shown, including the check box for "Use the same proxy server for all protocols". Then click OK.
